Hello and welcome to my site!
My name is Robin and I am a wildlife/nature photographer from the NW of England. Since August 2024 I have been living and working in Brazil. In addition to my home country I have also lived and worked in Malaysia, Indonesia, Nepal and Kenya. I am a professional educator with a degree in Biology and a Postgraduate Certificate in Education from the University of Sheffield. I am also a UK-qualified Mountain Leader and a nature guide certified with the Kenya Professional Safari Guides Association (KPSGA) and the Field Guides Association of Southern Africa (FGASA).
I have had a lifelong fascinating with the natural world but my interest became more serious in 2013. It is no coincidence that this was the year that I moved to Malaysia to take up my my first international teaching position. Growing up in the relatively wildlife-poor UK, I found myself hugely inspired by the rich biodiversity of the tropics (and awoken to the reality of the damage that is being done to it). This catalysed my interest in wildlife and inspired me to take up photography.
I consider myself as a naturalist and my interest encompasses all forms of wildlife. I am as fascinated by moths as I am by big cats and I will stop to observe and photograph everything in between (often much to the bemusement of guides and other people!). With my photography I aim to celebrate species in their natural environment.
